LODGE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS : The house has two separate sleeping areas: Off the main area are double bedrooms with gas fireplace (en suite bathroom with bath/shower with gas heater) and a separate room with 2 single beds. Both rooms open onto the deck. The second room is serviced by an additional bathroom. In the cottage area (off the sun lounge) there is a double bedroom with gas fireplace, a double sleeper couch in a small open plan kitchenette lounge area. Both these rooms open onto the deck. A further upstairs loft room has 2 single beds. A large bathroom services these rooms with bath/shower/toilet and gas heater), there is also a double sleeper couch in the loft playroom above the sun lounge. Total beds sleep 12.
WATER AND LIGHTS : HCE Lodge is completely served by solar power and gas. Water is pumped using solar power from underground springs into holding tanks, solar is used to charge batteries for electricity whilst the fridge and stove and hot water are run with gas. As the water is straight from natural springs it is clean and full of minerals, making it beautiful for drinking. NB: PLEASE NOTE: The lodge runs off solar, gas and natural spring water. High voltage appliances such as hairdryers and microwaves are strictly prohibited.
REFRIGERATION : Two fridge’s are available, one in the main kitchen and a bar fridge in the cottage. The freezer compartments are however limited as these are powered by gas. Storage of cold foods can be arranged with the farm manager if required. 2 cooler boxes are provided for drinks (if required). Ice can be purchased in Belfast.
SERVICING : The Lodge will be serviced each morning of your stay between 8 and 10am. During this time the kitchen will be cleaned and beds will be made up if required. Please advise the farm manager on the latter.
OUTSIDE BRAAI : An outside gas braai/grill is available on the deck.
MEDICINE KIT AND EMERGENCY NUMBERS: A fully equipped 1st Aid kit is provided at the Lodge. Although certain snakes are found on the farm, it is rare that visitors will encounter them but it is important to be cautious at all times. The farm manager is 1st Aid qualified and available 24hrs a day in case of emergencies.
